Children’s Ministry

The primary goals of our Children’s ministry are to love the children, share the Word of God with them, help them grow and develop a personal relationship with Jesus and equip them to tell others about Jesus.

Sunday School is for children 6 months of age through 5th grade

Baby Sunday school: 6 months to about 3 years old

For 15 minutes at the beginning of the service infants and toddlers will become familiar with the Bible through song and interactive play.  The main ideas in these lessons are: God created everything, God made me and thank you God for baby Jesus.

Younger kids Sunday school: 3 years old to Kindergarten

Children play together and then praise God through song and prayer.  They hear about God’s love and power in the Bible story and craft. The Family Page children take home is a tool for parents to reinforce the Bible lesson and grow together during the week.

Older kids Sunday school: 1st grade through 5th grade

Kids learn about Jesus’ love and God’s truth through Bible lessons and activities.  The Family Page kids take home is a tool for parents to reinforce the Bible lesson and grow together during the week. Once a month kids join the church family during the sermon to learn from the message and enjoy their place among disciples of all ages and maturity levels in the church body.  This is an opportunity for the congregation to model for kids the great value of joyful reverence as they study God’s Word together. On these Sundays, sermon notes are provided for the kids to complete and discuss with their families.

Leadership training: 6th grade and beyond

Kids join the congregation and listen to the sermon every week.  The Teen Leadership Training includes a Bible study about leadership and explores what it means to serve and how that looks in the church body.  Discipleship relationships are built to encourage kids as they are setting an example to others and also challenge them to dig deeper as they personally follow with Jesus.

Kids can use the outline below to help them take notes during the messages.
